It’s pretty amazing to have Howard’s book, Northwest Side Community Development Corporation: A Story of Persistence, Adaptation, and Luck sitting right next to Mirin Fader’s new book Giannis, The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP at our favorite local bookstore, Boswell Book Company.
If you don’t know, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the amazing heart and soul of the Milwaukee Bucks, the team that just won the 2021 NBA championship. Giannis is revered in Milwaukee so it was great to bask in that bit of reflected glory on Boswell’s local authors display. Plus it makes for an amazing photo!
Howard’s book has been published and we are busy scheduling events, fulfilling orders, and thinking of new ways to connect to readers, community organizers, and people in the trenches of urban economic development. The book was always intended to give organizations coming up the benefit of Howard’s thirty-seven years’ experience and spark discussion and debate about how to create the healthy and prosperous cities of the future.
